Velkommen (::Welcome) to my website and thank you for your interest in Scandinavian design.
Scandinavian Exposure is owned by me, Yvonne Larsen Wiltshire. I am a Norwegian living in Perth with my husband and our two beautiful girls.
Scandinavian Exposure came about on my many trips back home to Oslo, Norway, visiting my family.
With my dad being a builder and carpenter, and my mother an interior enthusiast, I found myself drawn to the world of design.
I guess you get more attached to your roots when you leave your 'home', so I wanted to bring some of my 'home' back to Australia.
I represent an exclusive, handpicked portfolio of innovative Norwegian up-and-coming designers supplying interior and exterior products for the residential and hospitality industry. The designs are both quirky, contemporary and beautiful, and some have reaped Design Awards for Excellence.
Scandinavian design is predominantly seen as Swedish, Danish and Finnish, but Norway has become internationally renowned for its innovative, affordable and user friendly design ( this can be read about in the book 'Norway Calling') and I want to expose these great designers to Australia.
I want to emphasise on Norwegian high quality and design, and promote Norway as a design destination as well as introducing new designs from the Nordic countries.
Some of the designers are:

If you look closely you will see the map of Norway twisting around to make the "flower".
The butterfly in the middle represents my dearly beloved 'pappa', Arve Larsen, who died of Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer in 2008. (The thyroid is in the shape of a butterfly.)
My vision and mission:
:: Scandinavian Exposure is a proud supporter of Thyroid WA - www.thyroidwa.com

Did you know?
Up to 300 million people worldwide experience problems with their thyroid gland, although over half are presumed to be unaware of their condition?
The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped organ located at the base of the neck, in front of the windpipe. It is the 'master controller' of metabolism and plays a key role in our health and wellbeing. It makes, stores and releases thyroid hormones into the blood, thus regulating metabolism. These hormones are essential for the proper functioning of all bodily tissues and organs. They enable our body to use its stores of energy efficiently, thereby controlling temperature and allowing our muscles to work properly.
:: Scandinavian Exposure also support Westcare, an organisation who enriches the lives of people with disabilities. www.westcare.com.au
:: To provide Australians with good quality and affordable Norwegian and Nordic designer houseware and honest customer service.
